POSITION OVERVIEW
The Field Manager is a skilled technician and a responsible leader for our Residential PV Installation team by region. This role reports directly to the Residential Superintendent and is a full-time position. This role is expected to coordinate with crew members and Superintendent to ensure success of every installation, along with focusing on morale and satisfaction from the install crew, maintaining safety and process best practices, and promoting Positive Energy Solar’s core values and policies. This role will focus on quality customer experience (internal and external customers), assist in providing direction to install crew members, and support the Residential Superintendent in their administrative and leadership duties.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Residential Superintendent in implementation and execution of assigned duties.
- Prepare a weekly schedule for Residential Superintendent to review, and ensure the schedule is communicated effectively to install crew.
- Attend all scheduling, pre-construction, training, and development meetings as required.
- Participate in installations as needed.
- Ensure that job box review is completed accurately.
- Provide technical input on design and installation methods.
- Monitor and resolve jobsite or project issues with crew as they arise.
- Oversee button-up scheduling and completion.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including but not limited to: PPE utilization, adherence to OSHA regulations, and meeting regulatory requirements.
- Collect and provide upwards feedback to Residential Superintendent regarding project status, process improvement, materials needs, and schedule changes.
- Monitor personnel and provide Residential Superintendent with feedback regarding employee performance.
- Communicate professionally with customers on site.
- Maintain post-installation processes, including but not limited to: Bill of Materials variance review, EOD/EOJ/Inspection-Ready updates, installation photos, process checklists, and commissioning.
- Ensure that fleet vehicles are clean, well-maintained, and serviceable.
- Perform all physical activities required to fulfill the tasks of PV installation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 years solar PV installation experience
- NABCEP Certification and/or Journeyman Electrician License preferred
- OSHA Certification
- Experience with the safe use of hand and power tools
- Ability to work outdoors and in inclement weather/extreme conditions, ex: hot sun, snow, crawl spaces, etc.
- Ability to legally and safely operate a motor vehicle.
- Must be able to fulfill physical demands of the position as assessed by a qualified medical professional:
- Work in squatting, twisting, standing and stretched positions
- Lift, carry and walk with up to 40 pounds of tools and or equipment
- Climbing up and down ladders
- Walking on uneven ground
