We are currently hiring for a Solar Site Surveyor. The Site Surveyor will provide professional site auditing services to obtain and communicate the necessary information from the field to the internal Sales, Operations & Design Teams. The Site Surveys will be used to finalize a solar system design, and create permit ready documents needed to facilitate the installation of solar systems. As the Site Surveyor you will be making one of the first impressions of the company to the customer. Must be professional and confident in all requirements to make a smooth first meeting to ensure the customer is completely comfortable continuing with Green Power Energy.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to project sites in a company vehicle to obtain necessary information for others to complete the technical review and design for a solar system
- Create detailed rooftop map layouts including all roof dimensions and obstructions (pipes, vents, skylights, etc.)
- Develop a positive relationship with customers to establish rapport and to gather site information as needed
- Conduct a physical site audit using auditing tools including a tablet/phone with apps, measuring devices, and other related equipment
- Upload site audit documents in a timely manner to the Design & Engineering departments so they can produce permit-ready documents
- Gathers detailed structural data on multiple types of homes
- Identifies issues on homes that may interfere with our installations
- Gathers all electrical data required by the company
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Self Motivated individual who works well alone
- Safety conscious individual who is able to setup and climb a ladder
- Must have knowledge of the roof details needed to build a Solar System
- Able to draw legible sketches of roof planes to then be used by others
- Photo document all aspects of the site that are required
- Provide and maintain a current driver's license and a clean driving record
- Punctuality and strong communication is a must
- Follow safety guidelines for working with fall hazards
- Ability to pass a pre-employment driving record and criminal background check
- Be able to use technology such as Dropbox and Google Calendar
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and have the ability to climb ladders and work on rooftops
