The Solar Engineering Intern will join our Operations Department at our Annandale, NJ headquarters. The Engineer will take preliminary plans for our residential solar projects and turn them into fully engineered construction plans. The Engineer will get to work with our 3rd Party engineering software partners and Structural Engineers to create the best Permit Package for each project that will be used for Municipal and Utility approval, as well as the subsequent construction of the project.
Responsibilities:
- Create an Engineering Synopsis for each of our customer-approved solar layouts
- Collaborate with internal team members to plan the final details of the project
- Upload the Synopsis and photos from each project site to our 3rd Party Permit Package creator
- Review preliminary rough project plans for accuracy and revise as necessary
- Approve project plans to be Structurally Engineered
- Organize and Receive Stamped Plans that can be used for permitting with Regulatory Agencies
- Manage the status of each project in company’s CRM
- Experience in AutoCAD preferred, not required
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Must be motivated and ready to work
- Ability to work independently, take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, and manage multiple tasks and projects
- Creative thinker with the ability to make decisions and execute effectively
- Ability to work within a team environment and provide back-up support to others as needed
