Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $93,400 to $155,700 annually. The target range for this position is $112,050 to $130,725 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.
Scope of Job: The Indirect Tax Manager, will oversee all indirect tax matters for the company and will report directly to the Senior Tax Manager. The specialty areas of Indirect Tax include, but are not limited to, Property Tax and Sales & Use Tax. Regular contact and collaboration with other groups will be required to include, but not limited to, IT, AO, FCP&A, Accounting, and Project Finance. The position has the potential to oversee the activities of a direct report in the future.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance – Manages tax compliance process for all non-income tax return filings – interfaces with, and reviews work product of external service providers; documents tax positions taken on returns; oversees indirect tax audits; and analyzes and appropriately responds to notices in a timely manner.
- Research and Analysis – Seeks to optimize tax planning, compliance, and strategy. Maximizes value to the Company by evaluating tax incentives and other opportunities, both proactively and at the request of Development, AO, and other groups.
- Tax Systems Management – Manages tax systems, currently Avalara, to ensure proper configurations and integrations.
- Digital Process Implementation and Modernization – Works with Digital Transformation to develop best practices and leverage technology for an efficient indirect tax process that minimizes risk and tax expenditures to the company.
- Internal Reporting and Administration – Provides quarterly updates on relevant KPIs and strategies for improving. Manages vendor relationships and costs. Documents tax processes and procedures. Improves skill set of EDFR operational staff and other personnel by offering trainings on relevant topics.

Working Conditions: 100% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience required.
- CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of indirect tax experience, preferably in the renewable energy, manufacturing, or O&M industries.
- Experience with SAP and Avalara is also preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft suite.
- Must have the ability to interface with other departments in a manner that professionally represents the Tax Department.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy with ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong written and oral communicator.
