Job Description:
The Receiving Associate plays a key role in warehouse operations by ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and processed. This position works closely with other departments to maintain inventory accuracy and support the overall efficiency of the warehouse.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments to verify accuracy of items and quantities against purchase orders.
- Ensure materials are undamaged and meet quality standards.
- Accurately document and input receiving data into the ERP system.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving area in accordance with 5S standards.
- Assist with labeling, sorting, and staging materials for storage or production.
- Communicate any discrepancies or issues to the appropriate team members.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the receiving process.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including data entry, sorting/filtering, and basic formulas), Outlook (email and calendar management), and Microsoft 365 tools.
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems is a plus.
- Preferred communication skills in both English and Spanish (verbal and written)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8–10 hours per shift).
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of items up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional use of ladders or step stools to access materials.
- Repetitive motions including bending, reaching, and stooping.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures depending on the season and warehouse conditions.
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of receiving or warehouse experience preferred.
