Description
The primary responsibility of the Commercial Service Specialist is to manage and support our O&M Department’s growing portfolio of solar and clean energy projects. The Commercial Service Specialist will handle primary responsibilities for managing a portfolio of solar projects for a variety of project investors and owners including Community Solar Farms, as well as a variety of third-party owned solar projects built for municipalities, schools, and private non-profits. They will work in tandem with the Legal/Finance/Development team and the larger Service team to support project investors in operating and maintaining solar and clean energy systems and ensuring that they maximize their return on investment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Field inquiries and requests from team email address and phone line and either work to resolve them remotely or escalate them to either the Commercial Team Lead or Asset Manager. Accountable for ensuring that all inquiries are responded to and resolved or escalated in a timely manner.
- Work with manufacturers and clients to resolve system performance issues remotely. Accountable for resolving or escalating tier-one troubleshooting in a timely manner.
- Monitor systems in manufacturer portals to interpret system performance, perform remote troubleshooting, and create and manage cases and work orders in our CRM for our Commercial Team Leads to easily use.
- Generate work orders and site reports for our technicians and Team Leads to use for preventative site inspections.
- As needed, create invoices and track client payments for commercial service work, annual contract fees, and community solar farm assessments.
- Populate contracts for community solar farm contracts as needed.
- Schedule site visits with technicians and site contacts as needed to maximize technician utilization rate.
- Support the Commercial Service team with administrative tasks as needed.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (desired but not required):
- College Degree in engineering, business, finance
- Experience in solar energy development or project finance
