Description
The primary responsibility of the Project Developer is to support the major functions of the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Project Development organization by acting as a pre-construction project development manager. ReVision’s C&I Project Development team is responsible for managing the solar project pipeline received from our C&I sales team at the time of customer commitment, through the project development process and leading the project team through the series of tasks required to make a project “shovel-ready” for our Construction Project Management team. These activities include managing the utility interconnection process, local, state, and federal permitting, environmental and real estate due diligence, site-control analysis, and project-financing support. The Project Developer will be responsible for understanding, measuring, and managing project development risk, efficiently solving project development issues, and meeting “notice-to-proceed” (NTP) deadlines. This is a multidisciplinary role that coordinates between our Commercial Sales, Legal & Finance, Engineering, and Operations teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assures quality and accepts ownership of C&I solar projects sold by the NH C&I Sales team at the time of customer commitment.
- This role will focus on projects located in NH, including small and mid-size roof-mounted and ground-mounted C&I projects.
- Manages and implements development activities required to bring each assigned C&I project from customer commitment to notice to proceed, including project design, utility interconnection, permitting, real estate due diligence, site control, and project financing (with Legal & Finance team).
- As project owner, provides timely updates to customers on development activities and manages any required customer development meetings, from point of customer commitment to notice to proceed.
- Responsible for project team management and coordination of activities with Sales, Engineering, Legal & Finance, and a successful hand-off to Operations for construction project management at notice to proceed.
- Serves as the face of the project and company both internally and in public settings, including but not limited to local meetings (zoning, land use, historical, etc.), utility onsite and virtual meetings, and pre-construction onsite meetings.
- Meets deadlines set by the Development team to make projects ‘shovel-ready’.
- Measures, monitors, and reports on development risk exposure; seeks to minimize or eliminate project development risk.
Requirements
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; detail-oriented
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work efficiently on multiple projects
- Advanced competence in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Dynamics
- Ability to coordinate a project team and collaborate effectively
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to comprehend technical documents: surveys, site plans, electrical diagrams, and engineering studies
- Ability to work at a fast pace, and adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions
- Holds high expectations of the quality of their own work product
- Accountable, highly independent, ability to be self-directed
- Ability to travel to project sites, public meetings, and ReVision Energy offices throughout NH and occasionally other New England states
- Two or more years of work experience in the renewable energy space or a related field
- Familiarity with New Hampshire’s net metering program and local and state permitting is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in energy, business, or related field or other relevant qualifications and expertise in one or more of these fields
