JOB OVERVIEW
Senior Operations Engineer, Asset Management, is a key member of the Asset Management team, with primary responsibility for supporting technical asset management functions. The primary responsibility is technical escalation and support for open fleet issues. The Engineer will additionally support all core aspects of the asset management team: daily management of solar plants, reporting, compliance tracking, and account management.
JOB LOCATION AND REPORTING TO
This position is preferred to be based in our New York City office, but we are open to our San Francisco office or remote for the right candidate. The Senior Operations Engineer, Asset Management reports to the Director, Technical Asset Management, and works closely with the Sales, Project Development, Engineering, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), and Project Finance teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitoring and analyzing the performance of renewable energy assets, identifying any deviations from expected performance levels, and implementing corrective actions.
- Establish a safety protocol for remote closing/event analysis on each newly COD’d site.
- Utilize deep technical prowess to resolve system issues, working closely with equipment, inverter, and DAS/SCADA technical support to create a sense of urgency with peak availability of our fleet at the forefront of priority.
- Coordinating inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs to ensure the smooth operation of assets, maximizing energy production, and minimizing downtime.
- Organize meeting agendas, both internal and with clients, lead meetings with clients, O & M providers, other external parties and internal teams, particularly with our D&E and Technical Development teams.
- Collecting and analyzing data related to asset performance, energy production, and maintenance activities to generate monthly reports and recommendations for improvement.
- Managing O&M relationship and agreements including negotiations, compliance monitoring, vendor management, invoice approval, documentation, etc.
- Defining and managing the technical handover from construction to operations. Oversee onboarding new systems onto the monitoring platform.
- Researching and exploring best industry practices and new technology for monitoring and O&M.
- Administering all contractual guarantees. This may include performance and/or availability guarantees with multiple parties.
- Improving and managing all equipment warranties and warranty claims.
- Setting standard and overseeing all internal O&M event tracking to enable accurate record keeping and reporting.
- Establishing and implementing a spare parts management system and strategy.
- Assessing and mitigating risks associated with asset operations, including technical failures, and health and safety.

This position is primarily sedentary in nature and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk in front of a computer.
