About the Role:
The Manager of Wildfire Risk Management is responsible for overseeing wildfire risk assessment and mitigation activities across the LS Power Grid transmission platform. The role involves the creation and ongoing program management of operating utility Wildfire Mitigation Plans, including the identification and assessment of wildfire risks, development of effective mitigation strategies, and enhancement of operational awareness across the organization. The Manager also provides guidance on risk management tools and policies, collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to identify mitigation strategies, and influence planning for system safety. Coordination with internal and external resources will be required to successfully complete job tasks. Additionally, they communicate with regulatory bodies such as the California Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety and state utility commissions as necessary and represents the organization in external forums to share best practices and maintain industry contacts for benchmarking. The role may also involve managing additional health, safety and environmental related tasks as required for the growing business.
Responsibilities
What you will do:
- Develop, update, and continuously improve Wildfire Mitigation Plans (WMP)
- Track ongoing mitigation initiatives within the organization and report out to regulatory authorities as necessary
- Lead any regulatory compliance actions related to WMPs
- Represents the company as a subject matter expert and stakeholder on process improvement teams, regulatory filings, data requests, and various stakeholder groups.
- Build processes and manage projects throughout the different lifecycles of workstream.
Qualifications

- Hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, mathematics, science, technology, or risk management related discipline.
- Possesses at least five (5) years of total industry related experience and at least two (2) years working on wildfire mitigation activities at a utility or consulting firm.
- Are self‑motivated, disciplined and possess effective skills necessary for the job as described. The ideal candidate will be a relational communicator, disciplined organizer, critical thinker and demonstrate superior judgment and decisiveness and someone who takes ownership in the role.
- Are proficient in data analysis tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, etc.
- Have knowledge of Web-based communications and communication techniques.
- Have experience with safety management systems and learning management systems.
- Have knowledge of regulatory reporting and recordkeeping (OSHA, ANSI, EPA, etc.).
- Have skill in developing communications materials such as news releases, feature stories, marketing collateral, photographs, web pages or graphic design.
- Have skill in developing accurate and readable communications within established deadlines.
- Have skill in articulating complex, sensitive issues, processes, and projects clearly and concisely.
- Have advanced skill level in office productivity applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.).
- Have skill in data analysis and manipulation.
- Are detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Can effectively communicate, build relationships, foster teamwork, and work in a team environment.
- Can balance competing and high priority work demands.

Physical Tasks and Working Conditions
- Work hours will be mostly in an office environment with occasional field visits as needed. Remote work available.
- Travel as needed for on-site meetings, audits, conferences, and critical incidents needing on-site.
