About the Role
We currently have an opportunity for a Summer Intern to join our team based in our Austin, TX office. This position will function as an OT Security Intern working with Operations Technology (OT) and critical control center OT systems. Functioning at an intern level, you will be responsible for assisting in the provisioning, operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure in OT Security Operations and OT Security & Compliance. As the OT Security Intern, you will ensure that systems, hardware, operating systems, applications, appliances have a related OT change management ticket and support the organizational mission of providing uncompromising security while maintaining the highest levels of reliable service. In this role, the OT Security Intern will serve as the resource for assisting a suite of products used to maintain security and NERC CIP compliance. The OT Security Intern will assist OT Security Operations and OT Security & Compliance and learn skills to design, execute, and mature CIP program implementations across the OT landscape of networks and support systems. Specifically, the position will be responsible for assisting in the implementation, maturity and maintenance of tools including configuration monitoring, logging, alerting, vulnerability assessment, asset inventory, and change management solutions. You will operate in a cross-functional capacity working closely with engineers, operators, technicians, vendors and other OT team members.
Responsibilities
What you will do:
- Mature and maintain security stack including but not limited to configuration monitoring, logging, alerting, vulnerability assessment, asset inventory and change management solutions
- Assit in installing new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with established standards and operational requirements
- Assit in developing and maintaining installation and configuration procedures and related documentation
- Contribute to and maintain baselines in a technically challenging OT environment
- Research and recommend innovative solutions and automation for repetitive tasks
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, systems and key processes
- Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled operations such as system backups
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions while evaluating patterns for attempted penetrations to classify potential threat vectors
Qualifications

- Have knowledge of power systems or SCADA concepts (preferred).

- Bring strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking abilities, along with expertise in modern software applications and document management strategies.
