Job Description
TheUS Security – Electrician/Systems Technicianposition directly supports all ongoing activities that serve to provide appropriate access to and protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of employee and business information in compliance with organization policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements including NERC’s Cyber Security Standards. The ideal candidate will also be equally capable of maintaining the vital documentation, logs, and change management systems required by the US Security standards, with support from the AES Clean Energy compliance team.

About the Role: This position is responsible for implementing electrical and security designs, maintaining physical and cyber security infrastructure (Access Control, Video Surveillance, Perimeter Fencing, & Motion Detection systems), and supporting compliance requirements and operations at AES Clean Energy sites throughout the US. Depending on the project, this role will be encouraged to act as both a project manager and/or a hands-on technician.

Requirements:
Strong electrical background (Preferably journeyman electrician/technician or years of experience in the field)
Physical dexterity
Capable of following and applying National Electrical Codes for projects
Strong PC skills
Knowledge of physical access control systems, video surveillance, electrical circuits, and security management systems
IP-based networking concepts
Able to safely work from heights exceeding 15 feet.
Background knowledge to learn to install, maintain, configure, and solve physical access control and video management systems, including peripherals (control boards, cameras, cabling, proximity readers, etc.)
Conduct routine hardware and software audits of all supported security devices to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, procedures, and requirements.
Experience handling concurrent projects/vendors.
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and software.
Knowledge of fiber optic cabling and termination
Provide technical support and training on security systems as needed.
Research and recommend new security technologies and standard processes.
Skillset to understand or learn to install security systems hardware, software installation, and configuration.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair system issues.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Availability to work on-call and during emergencies.
Must be able to get Transportation Workers Identification Credentials (TWIC) clearance.
