Job Summary:
As an Account Manager, your primary responsibility is to drive business growth by building strong, value enhancing focused relationships with strategic solar asset owners. You will ensure the seamless operation, maintenance, and performance optimization of solar assets while identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities that provide both value to Novasource and our customers.
In this role, you will take a proactive approach to understanding the unique needs of each client, offering solutions that not only optimize the financial and technical performance of their assets but also create new revenue streams. You will leverage your expertise in solar asset management to position NovaSource's full range of services, driving customer success and increasing long-term business
Efficient customer communication is key to success for not only the existing assets but also to gain access to the growing fleet of NSPS’s strategic accounts. You will be the main point of contact to some of the largest and most sophisticated renewable asset owners in North America.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including solar asset owners, investors, and partners.
- Communicate key metrics, project status and progress on initiatives with customers on a regular basis.
- Anticipate and resolve issues proactively, alongside other stakeholders from within NovaSource.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design effective solutions to meet plant goals
- Lead, upsell, and cross-sell sales initiatives forstrategic accounts
- Listen to customer needs and collaborate with internal teams on new products and services to meet these needs
- Performance Optimization:
- Monitor financial and technical performance metrics such as revenue generation, energy generation, operational expenses, and budget adherence.
- Identify opportunities to optimize revenue streams, minimize costs, and maximize profitability through efficient O&M practices in collaborating with cross functional team.
- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare financial reports, forecasts, and budget proposals for solar assets.
- Identify, propose, and track performance improving project opportunities through CRM
- Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
- Stay informed about industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to solar O&M.
- Meet regularly with site personnel to understand challenges/opportunities and effectively communicate these to clients.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes, and deliver value-added services to clients.
- Explore opportunities for innovation, such as implementing new technologies or practices to optimize performance and reduce costs.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and internal teams at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong workstyle and demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage timelines, and coordinate cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of financial principles and experience in budget management.
- Proven experience in solar operations and maintenance, with a strong understanding of photovoltaic systems and O&M best practices (technical experience preferred); ability to work and understand all aspects of a technical field service operation.
- Demonstrated experience in managing customer concerns, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and ability to improve performance.
- Must be motivated to work independently.
- Change oriented and adaptable to changing business situations and priorities.
- Ability and willingness to travel to sites or customers, as required, to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, renewable energy, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 5-10 years’ work experience, preferably in the renewable energy, or field service industries.
- Experience in a photovoltaic or power-generating industry preferred.
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office suite programs.
- Fluent English language skills, additional language beneficial.
Travel:
- Up to 25% travel may be required per year (domestic & international)
