Lumina is looking for a Permit and Inspection Coordinator to join our team in Palm, PA.
The Permitting and Inspection Coordinator will manage the permitting process and attend inspections for solar installations, ensuring compliance with local regulations and utility requirements. This role involves preparing and submitting permit applications, coordinating with municipal offices, tracking permit statuses, and scheduling inspections with clients and inspectors. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently to support the smooth and timely completion of solar projects.
In this role, you'll get to:
Manage the permitting process for solar installations, ensuring all required documents are prepared and assembled into permit packages for submission
Submit and pick up permits in person as necessary to expedite the permitting process
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) codes, regulations, and changes
Update and track permit statuses in Salesforce, keeping all AHJ information current in the system
Assist in troubleshooting permit and inspection issues as they arise, ensuring timely resolution
Attend inspections, including building, electrical, and service inspections, with clients, inspectors, and field teams
Work with electrical equipment, performing inspections and necessary electrical work to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations
Read and interpret blueprints and plans to ensure accurate installation and compliance with design specifications
Perform other clerical duties as assigned to support the permitting and inspection process
Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by your manager to enhance team efficiency and project success
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in permitting and inspection processes for construction or solar projects and/or other relatable solar experience
Ability to troubleshoot permitting and inspection issues
Strong understanding of Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) codes and regulations
Experience performing electrical work, including familiarity with main service panels
Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings
Experience coordinating and scheduling inspections with clients, inspectors, and field teams
Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM software
Strong documentation skills, showing attention to detail in entering and submitting accurate information
Position requires passing a drug screening and background check
A valid driver’s license is required for all positions at Lumina
This position requires regular in-office work at our Palm, PA location, as well as travel within the surrounding area to pick up permits and attend inspections
