Position Overview
The Solar Repair Technician Level 2 position is responsible for assisting the Solar Repair Technician Lead with repairing and maintaining roof and ground-mounted solar systems. This person will follow all company and safety policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions
- Assist in loading and unloading company vehicles
- Install, repair, and maintain rooftop and ground-mount solar PV systems including: flashing, racking, module-level power electronics (Micro inverters/Optimizers), array wiring, and junction boxes
- Work on roofs, ladders, crawlspaces, attics, and other residential and commercial areas
- Accurately pull material based on the construction plans
- Ability to fill in for Lead Installer when needed
- Basic understanding of testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting system components
- Basic understanding of schematics and ability to follow technical installation instructions
- Understand how to navigate through our work platform / CRM / and other applications
- Maintain a clean job site and work truck
- Work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
- Interact with clients in a respectful manner
- Perform other related duties as required
- Follow all company and safety policies and procedures
- Obtain Fall protection certification from Click Safety (1.5 HR course provided by employer)
- Obtain Electrical Safety certification from Click Safety (0.4 HR course provided by employer)
- Obtain OSHA 10 safety training (course provided by employer)
- Overnight travel may be required
Required Tools and Equipment
- Personal hand tools required including screwdriver set or multi-tool (11 in 1) driver, wire strippers, diagonal wire cutters, impact-rated socket set, socket adapter, tool belt, bag, or backpack
- Weather-appropriate attire with at least one piece of Purelight Power Company apparel worn at all times when on the clock
- Weather and job-appropriate footwear

- Safety harness and rope w/ rope grab and shock absorber
- Fall protection anchors and devices
- Power tools including impact, drill, and circular / reciprocating saw

Minimum Qualifications
- Basic understanding of hand and power tools
- Basic understanding of common solar installation practices
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively
- Ability to climb ladders and work on roofs up to a 45-degree pitch
