Scope of Position

Under specific direction from the site supervisor or expereince Technicain, maintains turbines, including but not limited to preventive maintenance and repairs of wind turbines and/or photovoltaic power and energy storage systems. Responsibilities
Renewable Energy Technician 1 : This level is intended to assist experienced technicians with conducting maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of wind turbines and/or photovoltaic power and energy storage systems.
- High school or equivalent education required.
- 0 to 1 year related experience or training
- Successfully complete applicable safety and technical training program for the entry level technician.
- Able to demonstrate basic computer knowledge and can follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Knowledge of electronics and mechanical components and measurement devices is a plus.
- Ability to understand, read, write, and speak clearly in English.
Renewable Energy Technician 2 : This level is intended to perform as an assistant to an experienced technician. Will perform preventive maintenance and repairs under specific direction.
- High school or equivalent education required.
- 1 to 2 years of related experience or training.
- Successfully complete applicable safety and technical training program for the entry level technician.
- Must meet Qualified Electrical Worker Standards
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Can understand, read, write, and speak clearly in English.
- Able to demonstrate basic computer knowledge and can follow both written and verbal instructions.
Renewable Energy Technician 3: This level performs unsupervised field maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on one or more types of renewable energy generators.
- High school or equivalent education required.
- A minimum of 2 years of renewable energy experience (Wind, Solar, and/or Battery Energy Storage System), and successful completion of the Technician 2 Standard, or equivalent external experience is required.
- Successful completion of the Senior Renewable Energy Technician Qualification Standard.
- Working knowledge of the National Electric Code and Industry related OSHA regulations.
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Proficiency in using advanced diagnostic tools, understanding of systems software, and familiarity with the latest industry standards.
- Able to read and interpret schematics and technical data.
Qualifications
Physical Demands all levels: The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - Be able to work at heights, including climbing and descending wind turbine towers in various weather conditions
- Able to work in a mechanical environment with tools, machines and moving parts
- Operate full size pickup truck in purpose built private and public roadways
- Able to move up to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Weigh less than 280 pounds for safety requirements
Due to weight restrictions associated with life-saving fall-arrest equipment employees are required to wear while working at heights, maximum employee weight must not exceed 280 lbs. Employee weight subject to review at any time throughout the duration of employment and required biannually.
Working Conditions:
100% of time is spent working in the renewable asset field. There is also marginal time spent in the officeenvironment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and generaloffice equipment.
This position requires working on platforms or skids, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, and therepetitive use of legs, arms, hands, and fingers. The employee will work eight (8) hours a day, forty (40) hours aweek, and overtime and night shifts as required.
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters whileperforming the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequentlyexposed to:
- Extreme weather conditions, including cold, heat, rain, wind, etc.
- High voltage and stored energy
- Moving mechanical parts and vibration
- Confined spaces
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary range: the full salary range for this role is $22.00/hr. to $36.00/hr.. The target range for this position is $22.00/hr. to $30.00/hr.. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.
