Job Summary:
The High Voltage Engineer ("HVE") will have responsibility for executing aspects of the conceptual design, engineering, procurement, and construction of electrical interconnection facilities associated with REV’s energy storage and solar PV projects. The HVE will coordinate & consult with other key individuals and outside parties including the SVP of Engineering & Construction, development and engineering managers, construction managers, asset managers, equipment OEMs, independent engineers, and contractors to support the development, execution, and operation of REV’s projects.
Duties/Responsibilities:
The HVE will be responsible for the following:
- Support bid solicitations and project development with knowledge of substation engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Prepare and review interconnection facility design packages, physical layout designs, gen-tie route designs, material specifications, and construction specifications.
- Review protection and control design and electrical studies and reports. Incorporate lessons learned across projects and standardize substation protection philosophy as appropriate.
- Regularly coordinate with utilities to meet technical requirements applicable to the interconnection facilities.
- Evaluate engineering, procurement and construction factors that lead to low-cost solutions in a highly competitive environment.
- Manage interconnection facility engineering, procurement and construction contracts.
- Manage technical aspects of transformer and other high voltage equipment purchase orders including shop drawing reviews and 3rd party factory inspections.
- Occasional travel required with the ability to traverse uneven terrain. Perform evaluations of projects in execution stage and prospective sites. Meetings with prospective vendors and contractors.

Education/Experience:
- Minimum of 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of power industry experience with substations and power delivery.
- Ideal candidate would have project experience working with various voltage classes (69 kV to 500 kV) and in a variety of electric utility territories.
- Strong time and project management skills including displaying attention to details.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Google Earth.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
