Job Summary:
Reporting to the Regional Director, oversee multiple plant sites supporting 500-1000MW of PV Solar and/or Battery Equipment Storage System (BESS) equipment to meet objectives in these areas: health and safety performance, environmental stewardship, employee training and development, customer management, financial health of the projects, quality control, work order management, and plant performance management.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of technicians servicing 500MW – 1000MW of PV Solar and/or BESS equipment.
- Responsible for operating the assigned area within the approved budget.
- Cross functional collaboration with support groups (HSE, Supply Chain, NovaCommand Center, Performance Engineers, and others).
- Achieve KPIs associated with safety, quality of work, plant performance metrics, financial metrics, and customer satisfaction (e.g. technical availability and quality of work audit scores)
- Manage customers and be the first point of contact for operating projects and day-to-day issues.
- Responsible for all plant personnel performance management, competency management, and ensuring adherence to policies and programs.
- Ensures compliance with all project associated documents - including LGIA, PPA, O&M contracts, and other environmental and governmental regulations.
- Demonstrated preventive / predictive maintenance management to minimize unplanned downtown, improve planning / scheduling, anticipate, and solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Write and enforce work and equipment testing instructions and procedures, including normal and maintenance operating procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- 6 years utility or energy industry experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience
- Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their license
Eligibility Requirements:
- Priority will be given to candidates who live within the NSPS operating site region
- Willing to work weekends and on short notice when needed and the ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Available for 24-hour on-call duty to meet plant emergencies and needs.
The ideal candidate possesses the following experience, skills, and abilities:
- Technical familiarity with PV and/or BESS equipment.
- Ability to utilize and navigate work order management systems (e.g. Maximo, SalesForce, SAP).
- Fostering a culture of support for direct reports and managing conflict.
- Comprehensive interpersonal, speaking and writing skills to lead and influence personnel, to present technical information and proposed courses of action to members of management, and to effectively conduct regular training courses.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Ability to provide excellent project delivery and customer service, quality on project deliverables, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, etc)
Travel:
Travel will be required depending on the needs of the region.
