Scope of Position
EDF Renewables North America is a market-leading independent power producer and service provider with over 35 years of experience. We deliver grid-scale power: wind (onshore and offshore), solar photovoltaic, and storage projects; distribution-scale power: solar and storage; asset optimization: technical, operational, and commercial expertise to maximize the performance of generating projects, and onsite solutions, through the Company’s PowerFlex affiliate, offering a full suite of onsite energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers: solar, storage, EV charging, energy management systems, and microgrids.
The Senior Accountant position has the responsibility of ensuring all appropriate and significant transactions at the Company and its power projects are properly researched, documented, and recorded in accordance with supporting authoritative US GAAP and/or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) guidance.
In addition, this position will also work with and may liaise directly with the Company’s external auditors, under the direction of the Lead Senior Accountant and/or Accounting Manager.
Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee the full cycle accounting close procedures ensuring the monthly, quarterly, and annual tasks are completed timely and accurate.
- Perform and oversee the completion of the supporting schedules and related analysis of workpapers managed in Prosytems, ensuring relevant account reconciliations and job cost reports, if applicable, are completed timely and accurately.
- Perform detailed review and needed research relative to required deliverables, to ensure accuracy within specified materiality limits.
- Perform and oversee the quarterly IFRS reporting packages and the annual US GAAP audit for assigned project entities.
- Serve as a workflow and technical mentor to accountants, providing support, as appropriate.
- Interface with other departments and business personnel regularly to ensure the reflection of our business transactions in the ledgers in an efficient and accurate manner.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting or finance required; Active Certified Public Accountant (or equivalent, such as a Certified Management Accountant or a Chartered Accountant) license required.
Education/Experience:
- A minimum of 3-6 years’ experience working within an accounting department (preferably mid-size to large company) and/or in public accounting.
- Experience with SAP and BI/BW preferred.
- Workflow supervision experience preferred; and
- Audit experience preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Extensive experience with an integrated accounting software package along with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of either US Generally Accepted Accounting Standards or International Accounting Standards.
- Excellent administrative, organizational and communication skills required.
- Demonstrated to be a highly motivated self-starter with a friendly personality and team player attitude that can become an asset to the organization.
- Ability to follow through on assigned tasks from start to finish, research, analyze and problem-solve.
Physical Requirements:
- None aside from ability to use general office equipment.
Working Conditions:
Approximately 95-100% of the time is spent in the office environment, with very minor travel to certain project sites for accounting-related tasks or for continuing education. Frequent contact with the corresponding business unit members in person, by telephone, and email will be required. Ability to use general office equipment and various software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office 365 products (especially Microsoft Excel), is required. In addition, the Corporate Finance team utilizes the enterprise application software SAP, Business Objects Financial Consolidation (BOFC), BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI), as well as ProSystems FX to govern and manage its accounting workpapers.
