Compensation
The salary for this role is $200,000 - $250,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in (Location). This salary range may also be modified in the future.
About the Role:
This position will be responsible for managing a portfolio of renewable assets across multiple ISOs in the USA and Canada, including both wind and solar plants. This is a hands-on, technical role requiring a comprehensive understanding of risks and exposures associated with intermittent resources. Responsibilities will include developing detailed models to track and manage risk, as well as identifying any short and long-term hedging opportunities to manage risk and maximize gross margin.
Responsibilities
What you will do:
- Develop and maintain risk models for 3 GW of renewable portfolio (wind and solar)
- Manage commercial exposure associated with both contracted and merchant position
- Manage day to day activities, including interactions with the ISO and third-party energy managers
- Optimize energy margin through hedging activities including DA/RT, CRR and other ICE products
- Collaborate with origination team for future offtake opportunities for energy and other attributes
Qualifications
We want you on our team because you…
- Have 3 - 7 years of experience in wholesale power industry, preferably with renewable energy
- In depth understanding of modelling and managing covariance risks
- Good understanding of ERCOT fundamentals and market mechanisms
- Experience trading short- and long-term power
- Experience with congestion market
Ideally, you also have
- Familiarity with eastern ISOs including ERCOT, PJM, MISO, ISONE and NYISO
- Familiarity with exotic and structured products, such as Heat Rate Call Options and Tolling agreement
- Familiarity with commodity derivative products
