Compensation
The salary for this role is $200,000-$250,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
About the Role:
As the Vice President of Finance & Debt Capital Markets, you will work closely with the Managing Director of Finance to build relationships with banks and other capital providers and to structure, raise and execute debt financings for private equity and development transactions, and to ensure adequate funding at all levels of the power and renewables businesses.
You should have experience in power or energy related industries, with a background in project and acquisition finance and a working knowledge in fossil fuel, renewable energy technologies and power markets. You will work closely with LS Power’s private equity and development teams and legal, accounting, tax, and treasury functions, to identify and forecast capital needs, build relationships, raise, structure and execute new committed debt in the bank, term loan B and private and public bond markets. You will work closely with portfolio companies to assist in credit portfolio management.
Responsibilities
What you will do:
- Structure, raise and execute debt at different levels of the capital stack for private equity and development transactions, including working on financing documentation.
- Work closely with acquisition teams, portfolio companies and other LS Power groups to provide debt structuring, credit input for CIMs and rating agency presentations, and work with lenders on due diligence Q&A.
- Build new and manage existing commercial and investment bank relationships.
- Work closely on syndicating financings for both underwritten and club type transactions.
- Monitor existing portfolio credit and work with banks on credit request pre and post close of a transaction.
- Work and liaison with the rating agencies.
- Monitor trends and developments in the debt capital markets and track comparable transactions in the power space.
Qualifications

- Have a minimum of six years of experience across infrastructure and energy-related deal execution, with a back-ground in debt capital markets, preferably at a large financial institution or corporation.
- Have experience in project finance and acquisition finance.
- Possess sector-specific knowledge of risk management and credit analysis.
- Have analytical, modeling, and fundamental research skills.
- Can work on a number of simultaneous projects with exemplary follow-through.
Ideally you will also have…
- Familiarity with ratings agency project finance and corporate methodologies
- Prior debt advisory or credit underwriting experience within the infrastructure and energy sectors
