What part will you play?
GAF Energy is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Specialist who will be responsible for processing all products shipped and received at our Georgetown, TX facility
You will report to the Materials Manager, and work to ensure seamless flow of material in and out of the facility. You will join a highly focused team that thrives in a start-up, fast-paced environment
This person will be part of the team that is responsible for manufacturing and delivery of high quality, high-volume photovoltaic solar technology solutions that transform today’s roofs
What will you do?
Pull and stage material for shipment
Package and prepare required documents for domestic shipments
Print labels and associated documents for shipments.
Count and calculate quantity of product to verify accuracy of shipment
Obtain freight rates via email or online from freight companies
Schedule pickups with freight carriers by phone and email.
Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup of all outbound shipments.
Coordinate with freight carriers to expedite or track deliveries.
Ensure accuracy of daily shipping paperwork and outgoing shipments
Maintain inventory of consumable supplies and re-order as required.
Load and unload incoming and outgoing freight and goods.
Verify contents, quality and quantities of all incoming shipments
Review and document incoming material for damage and notify internal team
Move materials into the warehouse and ensure location accuracy.
Perform shipping and receiving transactions in MRP and WMS
Provide warehouse support, stocking or inventory functions as required
Issue material to production line
Perform material cycle counts and stock checks
Maintain accurate records of all products shipped and received
Keep work area, tools, supplies and equipment clean and organized
Other duties as assigned
What do we require from you?
High School Diploma or equivalent. Associates degree preferred
3+ years of experience in a warehouse, shipping/receiving environment
Experience with logistics/routing scheduling delivery
Material Handling & forklift certified
Knowledge of Warehouse Management System (WMS)
Basic computer skill including email, spreadsheets and Docs
Ability to safely operate material handling equipment as necessary
Detail-orientation in performing accurate transactions.
Proactively meets both internal and external customer needs
Effective work methods and consistently meets commitments
Effective communication skills: clear, concise and positive
Ability to communicate with inbound and outbound drivers
Must be able to wear safety equipment and perform work in a production environment.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to walk, lift, carry, grasp, bend, reach, kneel, climb stairs and ladders is required.
Ability to work in standing operations for long periods of time is required.
Specific vision abilities including close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus is required.
Available to work flexible hours as necessary
Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Ability to work safely and with minimal supervision
Ability to follow directions and complete work with minimal supervision.
