About the Team:
Our Human Resources team is a dynamic, collaborative group of 8 dedicated members located across offices nationwide. Our primary focus is to deliver high caliber services across all facets of Human Resources, including Benefits/Wellness, Compensation/Payroll, Talent Acquisition, and Employee Engagement. We work together to deliver excellence in every aspect of our responsibilities.
About the Role:
The Senior Human Resources Director will serve as a strategic partner and provide comprehensive HR support, driving initiatives in operations, performance management, learning and development, succession planning, employee relations, and onboarding design. This role is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that align with business goals, enhancing employee communication, and addressing overall employment needs.
The Senior HR Director will collaborate with the SVP of Human Resources, senior leadership, and department heads to define and execute the organization’s people strategy. Acting as the successor and second-in-command to the SVP of Human Resources, this position will manage the HR leadership team and assume full responsibilities in the SVP’s absence, ensuring seamless continuity in leadership and decision-making.
Responsibilities
What you will do:
- Provide HR leadership, serving as main point of contact for operations, leadership & development, benefits, HRIS, Total Rewards (along with the Associate Director, Compensation), employee experience, HR compliance, and employee relations issues
- Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions; analyzing information and providing beneficial HR solutions to business issues.
- Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines; communicating and enforcing organization values.
- Directly manage/mentor members of the HR Operations team (Benefits Manager, and 2 HR Generalists along with HR Intern (as applicable) as well as HR management team (2 Talent Professionals and Assoc. Director, Compensation).
- Employ budget-conscious mindset and apply creative solutions to ensure cost-effectiveness across all HR activities in liaison with the SVP of Human Resources.
- Manage through the HR Management team, the key HR areas and develop strategies and best practices in the areas including, but not limited to: Total Rewards, Talent Management and Recruitment, Engagement, Operations, Compliance, leave of absences, performance and talent management, occupational health and safety, Employee Relations, Onboarding experience, HR Technologies, Learning & Development and Data Analytics.
- Acts as a trusted business partner between the SVP, HR and our various division head
- Leads the HR division in SVP of HR’s absence
HR Policies
- Interpret and implement HR policies, practices and procedures when questions arise
- Review and ensure employee handbook is kept up to date with applicable legislation across office locations
- Monitors and ensures the organizations compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Remain up to date on all new legislation and laws that are HR focused across all jurisdictions the company is doing business
Employee Relations
- In close collaboration with the SVP of HR and the business leaders, ensure the creation of a working atmosphere that is in line with company culture and local and federal laws
- Manage employee relations inquiries and conduct investigations, as needed
- Work with the appropriate legal resources (in house legal team, outside counsel and/or Compliance department) to ensure risk mitigation
Talent Development and Performance Management
- Partner with the Talent team on developing and executing on their respective strategies and initiatives
- Partner with managers on the identification and development of internal talents leveraging the Performance Review process
- Develop, sponsor, and implementation of initiatives focused on employee development opportunities: internship programs, training, internal movement and coaching
- Work with senior management to define an annual training plan based on gaps identified during Performance Reviews and execute this plan and monitor results; ensure that training strategies meet employee skill development needs
- Help business leads develop promotion process to deliver on career development
- Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
Miscellaneous

Qualifications
We want you on our team because you:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced training or education in HR or general business is preferred.
- Have expertise in facilitating training, professional development, and certification activities for HR staff.
- Possess over 9 years of Human Resources Generalist experience with HR technical knowledge, including organizational development, performance management, compensation, recruitment, employee relations, employee communication, and policy application
- Have at least 6 years of experience managing HR teams, with direct oversight of 2+ reports.
- Have a proven track record of providing HR support to a varied distributed workforce.
- Can build strong partnerships and positively influence internal stakeholders and HR colleagues across the company.
- Demonstrate success leading and managing teams in situations without direct authority. A commitment to delivering results and meeting deadlines.
- Have a keen understanding of the organization’s dynamics, knowing how to navigate and involve key players to address issues effectively.
- Possess strong initiative and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex business challenges, propose innovative solutions, and make data-driven decisions quickly and objectively.
- Have excellent listening, written, oral, and presentation skills, with the ability to connect with individuals at all levels in a diverse environment.
- Can travel to company offices as needed.
