Overview of Position:
This is an outstanding opportunity for a career-oriented project accountant to join the Terra-Gen project accounting team. This position will report to the Project Accounting Manager. Primary responsibilities include handling monthly draws, coding invoices, tracking contracts, and conducting Variance Analysis for several construction and development projects. Additionally, this role will be responsible for running month-end reports and entering correcting Journal entries. This position involves close collaboration with the corporate accounting staff in New York, and Development and Construction personnel in California. Other special projects will be assigned to this role.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Construction Draws: Responsible for submitting construction draws for several construction projects. Preparing YTD budget files and providing Variance analysis for each construction project. Provide documentation, contracts, and lien waivers for the IE (Independent Engineer) review. Respond to Corporate Finance and Accounting Departments, Accounting Manager and Project Managers questions regarding all construction draws in a timely fashion. Assist Project Managers with completion forecasts.
- Financial reporting: Run month end Reports for construction and development projects.
- Financial support duties: Maintain contract logs for construction and development projects. Proficiently input contracts in Purchasing and Project Accounting modules in Great Plains Accounting Software. Manage the posting intercompany journal entries, track cash movements for book transfers, and facilitate wire requests. Provide support to corporate accountants with accruals and assistance during yearly audits.
- Development and Construction support duties: Work closely with the Development and Construction Managers, by providing payment status, Development and construction reports and join Teams meetings with the ability to respond to questions regarding the projects.
Requirements
Relevant qualifications and experience (not all are required):
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related fields, from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience. Accounting designation is preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills in spreadsheet software, Including Microsoft Office required.
- Financial accounting system experience preferred.
- Construction Accounting experience.
- Able to complete work to deadline with little direct supervision.
- Resourceful, self-motivated with ability to work in an independent environment on multiple projects.

The posted compensation is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future, depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
