OVERVIEW:
Construction Innovations’ Estimator I thrives in an exciting, challenging, and innovative work environment. The Estimator I is responsible for performing accurate take-offs and developing cost estimates for the electrical scope of renewable, substation, and commercial building projects. Our ideal candidate is someone who can hit the ground running as a collaborative member of the estimating team and may have a background in architecture, construction, or design. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs accurate quantity take-offs
- Reviews data and plan sets to determine scope and material requirements
- Estimates cost using estimating software supplied with pre-built work breakdown structures and assemblies
- Applies historic cost data to current estimates to reduce variance between estimates and actual cost
- Reviews estimates with the Estimating Manager
- Prepares and presents estimate documentation to salespeople
- Collaborates with other estimators to estimate larger projects
- Supports salespeople both pre-and post-award
- All other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The Estimator roles spend most of their time in an office environment. The office is an open and collaborative space where work is performed both independently and with the team to ensure that customer requests are met.
REPORTING STRUCTURE:
The Senior and Estimator II positions report directly to the Estimating Manager. The Estimator I position may report to a Senior Estimator or the Estimating Manager.
CAREER ADVANCEMENT:
Career advancement at Construction Innovations is possible with all positions but is not guaranteed. Advancement could be within the current department or to other departments within the company.
LOCATION:
Construction Innovations facilities and offices are located in Sacramento, CA, and Mather, CA.
COMPENSATION:
A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $30.53 - $46.25, hourly. The actual amount offered within this range will depend on a variety of factors including geography, skills and abilities, education, experience, and other relevant job-related factors. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role, and compensation decisions depend on each case's facts and circumstances.

Qualifications
DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 1 year of experience estimating or performing related activities in the construction and/or electrical industries
- Working knowledge of electrical installation, estimating techniques, and cost control
- Experience in renewable energy, substation, and transmission/distribution is highly preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to perform detailed work and successfully meet deadlines
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Experience or exposure to software programs such as LiveCount, Bluebeam, and AccuBid
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly sit, stand, and walk for long and short distances.
- Required to hear with or without correction to be able to interpret and receive information and directions.
- Regularly required to communicate: verbal and written, in order to describe and explain detailed, important, and accurate instructions.
- Occasionally lift and/or move material up to 25 lbs.
- Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Noise level is usually moderate
