POSITION OVERVIEW
Join our Positive Energy Service Team in their quest to keep the solar systems of northern NM up and running and generating clean energy. If you enjoy solving complex problems, troubleshooting electrical and solar equipment, and working in a collaborative team environment, this could be the perfect career for you. This full time position reports to the Service Manager and generally works Monday - Friday with some flexibility in the hours. A qualified candidate will be able to manage their own case loads and have some autonomy in scheduling their own service work. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work safely and efficiently at all times.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and solar equipment.
- Maintain updated Case Records in customer relations management (CRM) program (NetSuite)
- Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain internet/ data connections for solar system monitoring
- Perform Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC) inspections and provide feedback on installations.
- Respond to and complete service case tasks by coordinating with the Case Manager and customers.
- Document daily Service Cases work in in the CRM.
- Coordinate with Warehouse Team on equipment returns and or replacements.
- Plan Service Calls in a timely and efficient manner based on locations
- Maintain stock on the service truck and ensure it is clean, organized, and service-ready.
- Plan materials needed for service calls; identify new products to solve technical issues.
- Perform additional duties as necessary to support business operations.
- Travel to job sites required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Residential Journeyman's License or eligible to sit for the ER1J exam within one year of hire.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer Competency in but not limited to Google Suite (drive, sheets, docs, etc.), basic networking skills
- Strong organizational skills in time management and workspace organization (tools, truck, desk, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC)
- 1–3 years of experience with solar system installation and related electrical work.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Valid driver's license and insurance.
- Furnish your own basic set of electrical tools
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in electronics, photovoltaics (PV), or electrical trades.
- NM ER1-J: Residential Journeyman electrician license - or eligible for exam within 1 Year in the position
- NM EE98-J Commercial journeyman's license
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
- NABCEP Installer Certification
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
- Comfortable working on ladders, squatting, kneeling, and walking on uneven surfaces.
- Ability to work with hand tools and in outdoor conditions, including inclement weather.
- Capable of working at a desk and using a computer for extended periods.
