Summary
The RMC (Remote Monitoring Center) provides monitoring support for NAES Renewables fleet of PV power plants and battery systems by identifying equipment breakdowns and system underperformance through data collection and analysis. The Monitoring Technician 1 supports the RMC primarily through the creation of work orders for quick dispatch of Field Service Technicians.
Monitoring Technicians work closely with Client Managers, Field Service Technicians, and Planning & Scheduling to keep sites running correctly. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with great analytical ability and organizational skills. They will have a proactive mindset, striving to find ways to improve site performance through data collection and analysis.
Primary Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor the operation of PV systems to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate/solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Remotely monitor fleet of facilities to identify breakdowns and performance issues which impact energy yield.
- Interface with Data Acquisition Systems (DAS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) to identify and diagnose onsite issues, and to remotely access applicable equipment for potential reset or correction.
- Use of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for creating and tracking work orders, as well as facility maintenance history.
- Support senior RMC personnel with reviewing and prioritizing alarms & tickets.
- Communicate via telephone with Field Service Technicians for site check ins, site check outs, and to verify equipment operation in real time.
- Communicate current & historical operational status of PV systems with internal departments and/or external entities.
- Produce PV system failure history for vendor warranty purposes.
- Follow processes and procedures, including identifying methods to increase efficiency.
- Assist in the management of work order updates, ensuring that work orders get a timely response
- Assist PV Performance Analyst with data gathering, analysis, and reporting
- Conduct monitoring demonstrations for visiting customers and NAES/Itochu management.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Compensation
The initial compensation will range from $23.85 to $27.40 based on qualifications and experience
Education and Experience
Required:
- Associates degree or equivalent experience
Preferred :
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
- 1+ years relevant working experience in solar energy (control room operations a plus)
Specific Skills and Knowledge
- Excellent communication, organizational, multi-tasking, and people skills.
- Ability to create, understand, and utilize raw data analysis in Excel and internal software.
- Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel is a requirement.
- Salesforce reporting skills helpful
- Knowledge of IT systems, database architecture, and software development processes and best practices is desired. Knowledge of both Windows based and Linux based systems also a plus.
- Experience with AlsoEnergy Power Track and PowerFactors Drive a plus
- Python experience helpful but not required
- Ability to work independently
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Position is based in the E3 Littleton, CO office
- Regular hours will initially be 4 days per week/10 working hours. This could change to 5 days per week/8 working-hour as needed. Working days could also include weekends.
- Position may occasionally include up to 12-hour shifts.
