About The Role
The Principal Project Engineer leads engineering efforts across a portfolio of distributed solar projects. You’ll guide technical design, manage cross-functional coordination, support permitting and construction, and mentor a team of engineers.
Principal Project Engineer will perform the following duties:

- Lead a team of engineers, provide strategic direction, technical oversight, and mentorship. Guide technical decision-making and ensure design quality across all projects.
- Oversee and manage a portfolio of distributed solar projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including development, design and engineering, permitting, construction, and commissioning. Projects include rooftop, ground mount, and carport solar PV systems.
- Coordinate design and engineering activities across internal and external teams including structural, civil, and electrical engineers. Lead Professional Engineer (PE) review and stamping processes
- Prepare interconnection applications, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and submit documentation to utilities for approval.
- Conduct engineering drawing reviews and facilitate AHJ and permit approvals. Track permitting progress and resolve technical issues.
- Coordinate with contractors, utilities, and AHJs during construction. Prepare and respond to RFIs, resolve field engineering issues, and support project managers through execution.
- Draft and update construction documents using AutoCAD. Support design team by translating engineering concepts into buildable plan sets.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree is required in Mechanical Engineering or Energy Engineering or Electrical Engineering
