The Senior Solar Project Engineer leads the technical design and execution of commercial solar projects. You’ll manage system design, support permitting and interconnection, mentor junior engineers, and provide cross-functional support from development through construction.
Senior Solar Project Engineer is needed to perform the following duties:

- Support the Design team as part of the initial training process and as needed thereafter.
- Oversee, design, and support commercial and grid-supplied solar photovoltaic systems.
- Lead project teams by providing clear direction, objectives, and ongoing support to team members.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers to support their professional growth and technical development.
- Prepare technical drawings and specifications for PV systems to ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements.
- Conduct detailed site evaluations and coordinate with structural, electrical, geotechnical, and civil Professional Engineers during the design process to ensure all technical and code requirements are met.
- Manage the PE review process to obtain professional engineer stamps on drawing packages.
- Provide technical support to Commercial Sales and Finance teams for the development of proposals and customer presentations.
- Participate in meetings and technical presentations to customers, investors, and the broader PV technical community.
- Offer engineering input for site evaluations, interconnection agreements, and other related tasks.
- Collaborate with electric utilities to prepare and process interconnection paperwork.
- Review specifications for the purchase of materials and equipment, identify appropriate equipment for PV systems, and perform technical qualification of vendors.
- Support Project Management and Construction teams by responding to RFIs, providing technical guidance, and assisting with as-built documentation.
- Review the work of other design engineers during the design phase and develop customer deliverables such as concept module layouts, single-line diagrams, material specifications, engineering validations, 3D renderings, and photo simulations.
- Assist with reviewing Requests for Proposals (RFPs), technical writing, and coordinating responses.
Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree is required in Mechanical Engineering or Energy Engineering or Electrical Engineering
