Green Power Energy is seeking a seasoned Director of Solar Operations to lead our solar installation and service teams. This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing all operational aspects of our solar projects, ensuring successful execution, timely completion, and adherence to quality standards. The Director will work closely with other departments including sales, engineering, and project management, to streamline processes and enhance operational efficiency, all while promoting a culture of safety and customer satisfaction. This position will run the entire Connecticut office and report directly to the Board of Directors.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in solar energy operations, a strong leadership background, and a passion for renewable energy. You will be tasked with strategic planning, resource allocation, performance management, and staff development to foster a high-performing team dedicated to delivering exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the solar installation and service teams.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, processes, and standards to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Monitor project performance, conduct site visits, and address any issues that arise.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and customer service.
- Foster a culture of safety, compliance, and continuous improvement among operational staff.
- Lead and mentor the operations team, fostering professional development and growth.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the renewable energy or solar industry.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects from inception to completion.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team development and performance management.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Deep understanding of solar technology, installation processes, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
