Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $118,400 to $197,300 annually. The target range for this position is $134,000 to $165,795 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.
Scope of Job: The Associate Director - Maintenance and Operations oversees multiple, highly variable projects that combine complexities of contract types (Full Service, Cost Plus, ex), geographies, technologies (Solar/Wind/Storage), and various OEMs. This individual will contribute/lead projects across regions in EDFps interest and oversee multiple sites within a region, ensuring regional goals are met, sharing best practices across sites, and aligning regional operations with corporate strategy. This individual will analyze staff skill and growth opportunities, and execute plans to improve, balance aspects of multiple disciplines (legal, financial, technical, regulatory) to determine proper activities to resolve issues, and translate operational losses in multiple technologies managed to financial results and their underlying effects on the regional EBITDA. The candidate will ensure policy and procedures are in place to assure compliance (NERC, ISO, or other) and demonstrate understanding of regulatory body requirements (province or state, federal, NERC, ISO, contract, or other).

- Regional Tactics:
- Ensures execution of regional protocols and procedures, with the intent to meet company objectives year-over-year and accommodate growth of new projects.
- Team Leadership:
- Provide for highly effective hiring, development and support of site leadership and regional support roles. Ensures a safe culture across the EDFps organization while leading and coaching operations teams. Reallocate resources across the region as required.
- Performance & Risk Management:
- Oversee safe operations for varied / complex renewable asset sites, contract types and associated service strategies. Conceive and execute initiatives to both optimize performance and mitigate risk.
- Oversee performance of the region, identifying performance gaps and improvement opportunities. P&L ownership for the region with excellent cost management.
- Contract & Regulatory Mastery:
- Thorough understanding of contracts’ language, compliance requirements, the various impacts of interpretation, their intent and history. Initiates strategy to manage risk and seize opportunities relative to contracts and regulatory requirements.
- Autonomously represents RS business unit in negotiation and dispute resolution.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Lead both regional and fleet wide improvement efforts across all aspects of operations (ex. staffing, technical, industry trends or regulatory items).
- Collaborates and influences diverse stakeholders (from front line staff to senior leaders) using effective communication.

Supervision of Others: Direct supervision of Site Management.
Working Conditions: 70% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 30% of time is spent outside of the office guiding field personnel, auditing quality of operational maintenance activities and associated safety, accommodating training needs, as well as overseeing activities performed by contractors and vendors.
Fiscal Responsibilities: Must work within the budget constraints of the project and as authorized by the regional head of Asset Optimization, or their delegate, while successfully following effective internal controls.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Associate degree in Engineering, Business, or Operations, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 8-10 years’ experience in a leadership capacity successfully running industrial, manufacturing, or O&M of power plant facilities.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Must possess a valid current driver’s license and successfully meet organizational requirements to operate motor vehicles.
- Required to understand technical aspects of energy production.
- Demonstrated thorough understanding of key safety concepts and work practices.
- The candidate must also understand the requirements to perform work scope under the law (ex. OSHA, electrician requirement, union requirement).
- Previous exposure to working with ERP/CMMS systems necessary.
- Effective communication and meeting facilitation skills required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Demonstrated competence of budgeting principles, impact of a project’s Profit and Loss statement on the overall health of the organization and the importance of active cost management desired.
- Understand how to perform short- and long-term resource planning, deliver accurate inventory management.
Physical Requirements: Candidates should be prepared to work in combination of office/computer based working environment and, in the field, having an oversight of the operational activities of their direct reports which may include climbing wind towers, lifting heavier equipment and participating in operational activities.

- Ability to be outside for a long time under various climate conditions.
- Ability to climb Wind Turbine Generators – wind sites only.
