What part will you play?
GAF Energy is seeking a talented Product Manager to help lead the strategic development of building-integrated solar photovoltaic products (BIPV) through business analysis, engineering analysis, and market research for our hardware and services teams. Optimizing our product and service offerings enables GAF Energy and our contractors to serve a broader range of customers by bringing more tailored solutions to better fit their needs.
You will report to the Senior Director of Product Management and work across all functional teams at GAF Energy and our partners.
You will help lead and define the team’s approach to technical design and market research efforts including system design, installation simulations, TAM, pricing, competitive analysis, and macroeconomic trends. You will also be responsible for interpreting data and summarizing conclusions in presentations to the leadership team.
You will also support the development of marketing materials, leveraging research conclusions to compose compelling narratives for customers.
The ideal candidate will have experience with solar industry manufacturing and/or installations, excellent analytical and presentation skills, impeccable written and verbal communication, and the ability to interface seamlessly between business teams to deliver well-articulated analyses.
What will you do?
Execute and evolve the product vision and roadmap for GAF Energy's product and service offerings.
Operationalize and commercialize product engineering and feature changes within the broader organization.
Create detailed requirements and product recommendations by staying up-to-date on current and future technology trends.
Conduct analysis to support product development efforts including system design modeling of engineering prototypes, installation simulations and analyses, and pilot installation process documentation.
Collaborate and convey product dependencies and requirements with the broader organization, including software, hardware, field operations, and sales teams.
Support integration of service products into internal systems and track performance metrics.
Represent the voice of the contractor and customer across the organization.
Monitor, track, and communicate the performance of current product offerings. Push improvements that deliver high quality, reliability, and responsiveness for customers.
Build business cases to support the development of new features, products, and applications.
What do we require from you?
Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or similar field(s) of study.
3-5 years proven work experience within renewable energy, solar, manufacturing, installation, roofing, or construction industries, ideally within product management or a similar function.
2+ years proven work experience as a product manager (or related position).
Experience managing new product launches and go-to-market operationalization.
Experience building business cases and managing product roadmaps, process development, and feature implementation.
Strong project management capabilities and success in delivering new ideas from concept to commercialization to actual installation.
Ability to work across multiple departments to form cross-functional teams as needed for individual projects.
Knowledge of residential electrical infrastructure and relevant codes, standards, and regulations will be helpful.
Entrepreneurial and self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and with diverse teams.
Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written.
Benefits and Compensation:
