Description
Bright Planet Solar, Inc. is looking to find a motivated, talented Permitting Coordinator to join our team! The Permit Coordinator serves as the local field-based resource for applying, picking up, and delivering permits to job sites. They work directly with city and county building departments to ensure timely permit collection. Following standard operating procedures and communicating in real time with their direct supervisor, they will create transparency of all permit statuses. Must be organized, a team player, and dedicated to delivering results.
Responsibilities:
- Use reports and dashboards within the Insightly CRM to manage the permitting pipeline
- Deliver team goals and meet service level agreements
- Attend team meetings, production meetings with project managers, and one on one calls with supervisor
- Work closely with operations staff, design team, account managers and others internally as needed
- Be involved in cross-team initiatives, projects, process updates, etc.
- Develop/maintain a good rapport with building departments and customers
- Entry level understanding of solar design plan sets: roof layouts, equipment specifications, single line diagrams
- Entry level understanding of state and local code requirements for photovoltaics
- Follow company safety guidelines
- Operate and maintain Company Vehicle
- Be responsive and professional over email and calls
- Guide internal and external teams to the specific building department process
- Manage Credit-card and check book transactions to company standards
- Responsible for paying on the company’s behalf, all miscellaneous items regarding projects that deal with the City/County/HCD i.e., Permits, Business licenses, late fees, etc...
- Manage personal work schedule
- Performs other duties as assigned
Working Conditions:
- Work in outdoor/indoor conditions. Must be prepared for local weather conditions
- May have to temporarily travel and work in other offices for a minimum of 1 week.
- May be exposed to energized electrical equipment/construction chemicals and will be required to take appropriate precautions
- May handle work equipment and be required to lift, move, and install materials up to 50+ pounds
- The noise level is moderate but varies depending on location and employee will need to receive, perceive, and react to common driving/construction environment
- Ability to be alert to receive and react to verbal commands and warnings for maintaining a safe workplace
- A typical work week would be 5 to 7 days depending on company demands with 8 to 12+ hours a day, 10+ hours being the average hours worked per day. You will be compensated accordingly as we uphold all overtime labor laws.
