Commercial Development Associate is responsible for assisting the commercial sales teams prepare with front-end paperwork. The role will pinpoint key markets within Texas, Colorado, and other target states energy economics to identify new clients and develop a target plan. The Commercial Development Associate should have knowledge of available grants, financing, and other local incentives within the market. The role will play a critical part in supporting Freedom Solar to close business deals while reducing the sales process time.

Essential Functions and Duties:- Supporting Commercial Sales Team by consolidating utility bills and organizing a rate schedule, solar workflow maintenance
- Mastering the proposal software, Energy Toolbase, and generates solar feasibility analyses for the sales team
- Designing software and creates preliminary layouts for the proposals. Ensuring that designs and data are all captured in Pipedrive
- Managing the submittal and approval process of commercial permitting
- Communicating with local utilities to find out about their net metering/solar programs.
- Reaching out to 3rd party contractors to get bids for projects.
- Managing commercial project submission and reporting
- Assisting with uploading documentation into Solar Workflow.
- Aggregating project updates across various sales team members
- Facilitating preliminary designs and proposal generations
- Performing general administrative duties for the department
- Performing additional tasks as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Must be able to perform basic math functions
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Qualifications:- Must have solar and/or retail electrical experience
- Experience with Energy Toolbase highly preferred or similar PV/Energy software
- Experience with solar design platform Aurora Solar, or similar product
- Prior experience in commercial and financial modeling (Return on Investment Internal Rate Return and Net Present Value) is strongly preferred
