Overview
As a General Laborer in the field of civil construction, you will play a vital role in supporting various aspects of construction projects, including infrastructure development, road construction, building foundations, and other civil engineering endeavors..
This position will require full-time travel throughout the United States.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing construction sites by clearing debris, grading terrain, and creating a safe and organized workspace for the construction team.Load, unload, and transport construction materials and equipment, including cement, steel bars, tools, and machinery.
- Operate hand tools and small machinery as needed
- Support landscaping efforts by planting trees, shrubs, and grass, and assist in the installation of irrigation systems.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and report any safety hazards or concerns.
- Maintain and organize tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and machinery, ensuring they are in good working condition.Provide support to skilled trade-workers by performing tasks such as lifting heavy objects, holding materials in place, and assisting in the connection of any components.
- Assist in documenting the installation process, including photographs, measurements, and any challenges encountered during installation.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid drivers license and ability to pass a background check and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Prior experience in solar installation or construction is a plus but not required
Physical Requirements
- Must have physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push and/or pull 50-pound loads at a time
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions
- Must be able to stand and walk up to eight hours per day and climb multiple sets of stairs while carrying materials weighing between 40 and 60 pounds
- Must be able to work some Saturdays and at night, when needed
