Lumina is looking for an Electrical Lead to join our Residential team in Maryland.
As an Electrical Lead you play a key role in our solar installation operations, leading the installation and troubleshooting of electrical service equipment, wiring, battery storage systems, and EV chargers for residential solar PV systems. This individual will ensure installations meet quality standards and relevant codes, supervise install teams, and coordinate with electrical inspectors, contributing to our mission of providing clean, sustainable energy solutions.
In this role, you'll get to:
Lead the installation of electrical service equipment, wiring, and devices required for the installation of residential solar PV systems
Install electrical components such as; solar modules, inverters, main service panels and other electrical components for residential solar systems
Install and troubleshoot battery storage systems, electrical upgrades, EV chargers, and tie in solar electrical systems
Ensure electrical systems meet company standard job specifications, quality requirements, the National Electrical Code, and other relevant local codes
Act as an on-site supervisor for install teams and provide regular reports of team activities to the project manager
Assist in job safety and overall crew support including staging materials, general site work support, as well as site preparation and clean up
Coordinate and communicate with electrical inspectors on projects
Provide regular updates of job status, complete necessary paperwork and photos
Correspond professionally with homeowners
Keep company vehicles well maintained, stocked, and serviced properly
Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall project success
Adhere to all of Lumina’s company policies and ensure that all safety protocols are followed
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
A valid Journeyman or Master's license is required
2+ years of Solar electrical experience
Experience leading crews
Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Ability to read and interpret Electrical line drawings
Ability to read building plans and equipment manuals
Proficiency in safely handling power and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, lumber, and roofing materials
Knowledge of electrical systems, both AC and DC, including troubleshooting, wiring, and assembly
Ability to troubleshoot electrical installation projects
Experience with roofing repairs and maintenance is a plus
Capability to climb ladders, work on sloped roofs in all weather conditions, and stand for extended periods
Experience and comfort working in attics and confined spaces
Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly
Must be proficient in the use of smartphones and tablets, utilizing them effectively for communication, accessing job-related apps and software, documenting work progress, and staying connected with team members and supervisors as required
Proven track record of reliable attendance
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards on every job
Position requires passing a drug screening and background check
A valid driver’s license is required for all positions at Lumina
