Description
SUMMARY
The Settlements Analyst is responsible for obtaining, reviewing, confirming, disputing or approving settlements for Wind, Solar and Battery Storage Energy Facilities operating the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) territory and ERCOT. This position may require interfacing daily with the scheduling coordinator, accounting group and occasionally with Terra-Gen plant operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned as needed)
- Analyze CAISO charges/payments for correctness.
- Prepare resource allocation and summary file weekly.
- Compile and provide settlement data support to accounting.
- Ability to recognize questionable charges/payments.
- Analyze settlements, prepare support for disputes and submit as appropriate.
- Track disputes and provide updates on resolution.
- As required support activities in other Markets (ERCOT and others).
- Collect data from various sources for multiple resources.
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- At least 2 years of experience in the energy industry either in working in wholesale electricity markets, accounting or support of generation assets.
- Knowledge of the CAISO Settlement processes, roles and responsibilities.
- Experience in Settlements, Energy Scheduling, Data analysis or transactional applications
- required (Settlecore preferred).
- Ability to use deductive reasoning and analytical thinking with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Competency in Microsoft software applications (highly proficient in Excel) and data analysis applications.
- Willingness to support other activities within the department.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE –
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Math, Science, Accounting, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS -
Must be able to communicate effectively with internal team members.
REASONING ABILITY & DECISION-MAKING SKILLS
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Makes timely decisions and knows when to involve others in the decision-making process.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS -
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT -
San Diego office or work from home with occasional travel to meetings in San Diego or other locations.

The posted compensation is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California. This salary range may also be modified in the future, depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location.
