Position Description:
Reporting to the Director of Design & Project Management, the Project Manager will work closely with the client and internal Project Managers and installation teams from the purchase of the project, to ensuring all needed permitting is signed off, the correct materials are delivered to the site, the utility interconnection is made, the rebate is paid, the installation process is completed, the workload is coordinated and teams assigned are assigned to the to the site, and the feedback is communicated/ returned to the Sales/ Marketing team.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and review project schedules, cost estimates, bill of materials, budgets (including familiarity with the scope of each budget line item), scope of work, standards and quotes from suppliers
- Assure all items and materials are ordered in a timely fashion
- Manage scope, sub-contractors and ensure labor compliance, internal resources such as engineering, permitting, etc. to ensure cost, time, quality and contract expectations are met
- Issue change orders, as needed, when changes to cost, timing, or scope of work is made outside of projection and project contract allows
- Monitor positive cash flow of a project through oversight of project costs utilizing various reports such as cost to complete report, timely and accurate billing and identifying and issuing change orders in a timely fashion
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Attend project management, design and hand-off meetings
- Work in collaboration with the Labor Compliance Specialist to ensure work meets compliance and regulatory requirements
- Work closely with Superintendents to coordinate scheduling and quality of build
- May assist with materials procurement and logistics coordination, coordinating and scheduling building inspections and collections
- Other duties as necessary to the projects’ success
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of successful solar project management and/or construction experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, or construction-related discipline, preferred
- Knowledge of NEC Code requirements, Universal Building Codes and construction techniques
- Ability to organize, utilize and motivate team members to successfully meet and/or exceed the construction schedule
- Experience in reading and understanding contracts
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently in collaboration with the Project Superintendent, implementing site-specific project modifications
- Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Astute time management, organizational, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Computer savvy and experience with various types of industry-related software applications Salesforce and SAGE, a plus
- Able to type 50+ wpm
