Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $93,400 to $155,700 annually. The target range for this position is $115,000 to $130,000 annually. We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.
Scope of Job
The Project Developer is responsible for identifying, sequencing and resourcing or completing all tasks related to a given project from greenfield to commercial operations. The ideal candidate possesses a broad range of capabilities including strong analytical skills, excellent communication and quantitative skills, adaptability and an aptitude for stakeholder engagement in the renewable energy industry.
Responsibilities
Internal Development-Related Duties:
- Manage the overall lifecycle of a project including creating schedules, budgets and an overall development plan that matches regional goals.
- Coordinate the design and implementation of land acquisition, community engagement and permitting campaigns.
- Lead project teams of internal subject matter experts to achieve critical path project milestones and advance the project schedule towards financial close.
- Obtain approvals at key project commitment and milestone points and clearly and effectively elevate issues to regional leadership as necessary.
External Development-Related Duties:
- Build relationships with key local stakeholders and drive the creation and implementation of an overall Community Engagement Plan to ensure successful development.
- Understand the timing and requirements of applicable permits and create and implement plans to obtain.
- Manage, Coordinate and deploy 3rd party contractors for permitting and site related studies.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, environmental studies. Renewable energy or energy related coursework preferred. Demonstrated experience relevant to project development activities.
- 3+ years of related experience. Project management experience and/or certifications preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
- Strong organizational, communication and time management skills
- Ability to translate broad goals into clear, flexible action plans
- Understanding of renewable energy project development competencies and common issues
- Ability to independently negotiate and manage contracts
- Ability to craft clear communication to senior leaders when appropriate in a timely manner
Physical Requirements - Mostly office work at a desk with some travel to various work sites.
Working Conditions - Approximately 50% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project, MS Teams, etc.), telephones and general office equipment. Approximately Up to 50% of the time is spent in the field meeting with project stakeholders, leading permitting activities, leading pre-capitalized project implementation, capitalized project implementation/ development as well as managing the assessment and pursuit of new business opportunities.
