Summary of Position:
We are seeking a highly skilled SCADA Administrator to lead the development, enhancement, and support of our Ignition Perspective-based SCADA system—a mission-critical application for our business. This role is responsible for managing the SCADA roadmap, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to deliver tools that drive field efficiency, and ensuring high system uptime. The ideal candidate combines strong technical capability with strategic vision and a passion for operational excellence.

Requirements
Responsibilities:
- · SCADA Development & Enhancement: Lead the continuous development and enhancement of the SCADA platform using Ignition Perspective
- · Roadmap Ownership: Define, manage, and execute the SCADA roadmap, aligning system capabilities with operational needs and strategic goals
- · Application Support: Serve as the primary owner of the SCADA application, ensuring stability, performance, and prompt issue resolution
- · Field Operations Efficiency: Create tools and dashboards that help field personnel work more effectively, with a focus on automation, usability, and uptime
- · Vendor Management: Oversee and coordinate work with key SCADA development vendors, ensuring high-quality delivery and value
- · Communication & Notification Design: Implement effective alerting and notification systems to ensure the right people receive the right information at the right time
- · Collaboration: Work closely with operations, engineering, IT, and data teams to ensure SCADA is fully aligned with business objectives
- · Documentation & Best Practices: Maintain system documentation, develop best practices, and drive continuous improvement in SCADA processes
Minimum Qualifications:
- · Proven experience with Ignition SCADA with Perspective HMI in a multi-gateway production environment (experience with Ignition Edge is a bonus)
- · Strong knowledge of databases with preferred experience in SQL Server and postgres (Timescale is a bonus)
- · Strong Python or Jython programming skills
- · Effective in building and maintaining tag templates in Ignition with UDTs and inheritance
- · Strong understanding of control systems and industrial protocols (especially Modbus and OPC)
- · Experience managing product roadmaps and implementing system enhancements
- · Familiarity with field operations, especially in energy or utilities sectors, is a strong plus
- · Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work with cross-functional teams
- · Strong vendor management and communication skills
- · Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- · Experience with notification systems, alarms, and alert routing is preferred
- · Understanding of http sockets communication is helpful

- This job operates in a professional office/warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to hear and verbally exchange ideas and information with the public, staff and others via the phone and on-site locations. This position will frequently be required to sit, stand, and walk. May require the ability to climb stairs, to kneel and/or crouch to retrieve equipment and other items.
