Job Summary:
What part will you play?
- GAF Energy is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to support our enterprise business.
- This position will develop and execute sourcing strategies for inverters, batteries and other balance of system components. This role will also be responsible for defining and implementing cost reduction and risk mitigation programs to meet our annual objectives.
- This position will be responsible for new supplier selection, development, cost management, contract management, supplier relationship management, and supplier escalations for all Power Electronics and balance of system components in GAF Energy's product offerings.
- This role will lead the cross functional team to manage sourcing activities with our incumbent suppliers, according to GAF Energy quality standards and technical requirements, and ensuring supply continuity for the enterprise business.
- This position will serve as GAF Energy’s in-house expert with deep knowledge of all the major players in the market, stay informed on global trends and technology roadmaps, partnering with design, operations, and sales teams to address supply and demand challenges.
- This position will lead contract negotiations, including business agreements, pricing agreements, warranties, service agreements, and other related contracts.
- This position will maintain supplier performance metrics and organize Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with suppliers.
- This position will ensure adherence to the highest ethical standards of integrity and professionalism in procurement processes, in line with corporate requirements.
What will you do?
- Develop, drive and implement sourcing strategies, including Domestic Content opportunities.
- Actively monitor and adjust strategy in response to evolving policy declarations including tariffs, AD/CVD ruling, and IRA.
- Lead vendor selection, contract negotiations, qualification and on-boarding.
- Maintain vendor relationships, communicating business needs and changes, and lead vendor quarterly business reviews.
- Analyze and communicate industry trends, changes, developments to internal stakeholders, including executive leadership.
- Own cost reduction roadmaps, delivering annual operating plan.
What do we require from you?
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or similar field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in vendor management or procurement/supply chain.
- Experience with sourcing and manufacturing of inverters, batteries and other balance of systems for residential solar applications;
- Ability to travel up to 30% both domestic and international.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, capable of building effective relationships and influencing peers and key stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan tasks, assign resources, manage progress, remove barriers, manage change, resolve conflicts, build consensus, and motivate team members across multiple projects.
- Understanding of logistics, shipping, and Incoterm implications on global sourcing.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external teams verbally, in writing, and via presentations.
- Demonstrated ability to persuade others in sensitive, complex situations while preserving relationships.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and efficient with impeccable attention to detail, a process-oriented mindset, and excellent time management skills.
