Job Summary:
REV Renewables is seeking an Analyst to join our Strategy team. Reporting to the SVP of Strategy, this individual will be involved in all areas of REV’s business, supporting strategic initiatives in market strategy, finance, development, and energy management.
We are seeking a motivated, curious, and detail-oriented individual with interest in joining a fast-paced small company. This role will be very dynamic and require frequent interactions with the CEO, CFO, head of development, and head of trading. Initially, core responsibilities will be fundamental power market modeling and analysis of electricity and commodity markets, which will drive commercial and development decision-making at the executive level. This individual should have experience quickly and accurately developing fundamental market models, including generation stack forecasts, merit order analyses, and production cost models. This individual should be comfortable translating the results of these analyses into coherent findings and recommendations for senior leadership, and thinking about the broader strategic implications for REV’s business.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Market research experience - Own and manage multiple dynamic power market fundamental analyses and develop reports and recommendations for senior management.
- Work collaboratively and dynamically across the organization, taking input from multiple teams and integrating into a cohesive work product.
- Evaluate ISO rules and regulatory frameworks for participation in various wholesale energy and capacity markets nationwide.
- Go beyond the apparent conclusions of an analysis by utilizing sensitivities, questioning assumptions, and identifying second-order implications.
- Communicate findings clearly and concisely to senior executives.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum 5 years of power or energy markets experience.
- Knowledge of power market fundamentals and experience building fundamental market models, including technoeconomic analysis of power plants and supply/demand models in electric power markets.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a demonstrated interest in the renewable energy market.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel; Python, Tableau, or other skills a plus.
