Job Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team and help us modernize, standardize, maintain, and continuously improve the technology ecosystem of our growing, geographically distributed network.
This role will be responsible for supporting our growing team and for the execution and continuous refinement of our strategic information technology and cybersecurity plans. Role responsibilities include infrastructure support and maintenance, end-user support, product deployment, product integration, as well as selection and oversight of outsourced service providers.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide advanced desktop support to end-users, addressing hardware, software, and peripheral issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Manage and monitor all infrastructure and system installations, including configurations, testing, and maintenance.
- Administer and maintain Office 365, including user management, security, and troubleshooting.
- Implement and maintain Enterprise backups, security, and redundancy strategies.
- Engage with upper management regularly with reports on project status, activities, and achievements.
- Use expert-level administration and optimization of hosts and servers to ensure high availability and appropriate resource management.
- Standardize and automate processes and monitoring using scripting technology.
- Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components, and clearly document the design, maintenance, and support procedures for routine tasks to leverage IT support staff.
- Conduct high-level root-cause analysis for service interruption and establish preventive measures.
- Ensure timely system and software patching.
- Ensure data storage, transfer, and handling procedures comply with regulatory requirements.
- Help enforce device security policies for servers, workstations, laptops and mobile devices (Microsoft Group Policy, Intune).
- Help define and maintain device enrollment and onboarding procedures (Microsoft Endpoint Manager and Windows Autopilot).
- Help define and maintain secure user access and SSO policies and procedures (Azure AD).
- Help develop and enforce policies and procedures to protect data and IT assets.
- Help make continuous improvements to company cybersecurity posture and infrastructure resilience.
- Help maintain and test internal incident response and business continuity plans.
- Document systems and processes, track and document ongoing changes.
- Support geographically distributed facilities and employees.
- Execute infrastructure improvement and migration projects.
- Respond to infrastructure outages.
- Assist with response to security incidents and alerts.
- Stay up-to-date with current technologies and technical developments.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, with a focus on network engineering preferred.
- 5+ years of Microsoft server, client and cloud administration experience, preferably in an enterprise environment.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator, MCSE certifications or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience managing geographically distributed environments with Azure and On-Prem Active Directory, Microsoft Group Policy, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and Microsoft Intune.
- Extensive experience deploying and managing enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity products.
- Extensive experience deploying and managing enterprise network infrastructures and network security policies.
- Experience with cloud security practices, including identity and access management (IAM) and compliance.
- Experience with Azure PowerShell.
- Proficiency with infrastructure devices, including switches, routers, wireless access points, controllers, and firewalls.
- Expertise in designing, monitoring, and repairing local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN).
- Comprehensive understanding of VPN, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, and DOS security practices and technologies.
- Knowledge of AWS administration a plus.
