Job Summary:
We are looking for a Senior Systems Administrator to join our Information Technology team and help us modernize, standardize, maintain, and continuously improve the technology ecosystem of our growing, geographically distributed network.
This role will be responsible for supporting our growing team and for the execution and continuous refinement of our strategic information technology and cybersecurity plans. Role responsibilities include infrastructure support and maintenance, end-user support, product deployment, product integration, as well as selection and oversight of outsourced service providers.
This position requires strong project execution skills, excellent cybersecurity acumen, and vast experience with traditional and cloud technologies common to enterprise environments. To succeed in this role, candidates must possess extensive experience with on-prem and cloud technologies, virtualization products, disaster recovery solutions, and network architecture.
Job Functions:
- Maintain and monitor infrastructure, including administration of Windows, Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, and device security policies.
- Administer and support network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless systems, ensuring secure, high-performance connectivity across all locations.
- Implement and maintain enterprise backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Provide support for networking, server infrastructure, endpoint onboarding, and troubleshooting.
- Enforce security policies for user access (e.g., DUO MFA, SSO via Azure AD).
- Enforce device security policies for servers, workstations, laptops, and mobile devices (Microsoft Group Policy, Intune).
- Oversee device lifecycle management, including laptops and iPhones.
- Lead or support IT projects involving product deployment, integration, and modernization; coordinate with third-party vendors and MSPs to ensure timely delivery and alignment with strategic goals.
- Participate in change management processes for major system implementations, including documentation of requirements, testing, and validation, support audit readiness and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT services with business needs, including support for compliance, audit readiness, and operational continuity.
- Support integration of enterprise platforms and services, ensuring interoperability across systems.
- Standardize and automate infrastructure processes and monitoring using scripting technologies to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Assist with documentation and knowledge transfer to build long-term institutional resilience.
- Maintain documentation for IT systems, policies, and procedures.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including procurement, device provisioning, and IT orientation for new users.
- Collaborate with MSP to resolve helpdesk tickets beyond Tier 2 and provide detailed documentation and procedures.
- Serve as the primary onsite IT presence for the NYC office, supporting both local staff and Northeast field locations.
- Coordinate IT infrastructure for office buildouts and renovations, including AV installations and security systems (e.g., door access, surveillance cameras).
- Provide C-suite white glove support, including boardroom setup, executive device support, and high-touch service for senior leadership.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, with a focus on network engineering preferred
- 5-7 years of Microsoft server, client and cloud administration experience, preferably in an enterprise environment
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Azure Administrator, MCSE certifications or equivalent experience
- Extensive experience managing geographically distributed environments with Azure Active Directory (Entra), Microsoft Group Policy, Endpoint Manager, and Intune
- Extensive experience deploying and managing enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions
- Extensive experience deploying and managing enterprise network infrastructures and network security policies
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Administration
- Experience with Azure PowerShell.
- Proficiency with infrastructure devices, including switches, routers, wireless access points, controllers, and firewalls
- Expertise in designing, monitoring, and repairing local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN)
- Comprehensive understanding of VPN, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, and DOS security practices and technologies

- Must be able to sit/stand at a desk, using a computer workstation.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, walk; lift push or pull objects up to 20 pounds.
- Must be able to handle long periods of screen time and typing.
- Must be able to have effective time management skills, with the ability to concentrate for long periods of time.
Work Schedule
- This role offers in-office work arrangements (requiring at least three office days in a typical workweek) working a Monday to Friday work schedule.
- Additional working hours may be required during periods of high workload and deadlines.
- Regular working hours with the ability to travel (up to 10%) as required by management.
