THE SENIOR DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS POSITION
Sunnova Energy is seeking a transformational Senior Director of Business Operations to serve as the operational nucleus of our organization. This strategic leadership role will oversee all back-of-house operations, including project management for direct installations, system diagnostics and triage, intake processing, and dispatching. Acting as our operational command center, this position will orchestrate a seamless customer experience while optimizing resource utilization across our service delivery network.
The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader capable of implementing scalable solutions and automating current manual processes. They will develop and deploy complex decision models and algorithms to optimize operations while leading a large, geographically dispersed team..
THE SENIOR DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership & Strategy
•Drives operational transformation through automation and process optimization
•Designs and implements complex decision models for resource allocation
•Establishes and monitors key performance metrics across functions
•Develops strategic plans for scaling operations while maintaining quality
Resource & Performance Management
•Optimizes workforce utilization across installation and service teams
•Creates integrated solutions for project management and dispatch
•Develops capacity planning strategies and performance dashboards.
•Maintains service level agreements across operational functions
Systems & Innovation
•Implements automated workflow systems and predictive analytics
•Standardizes processes for operational excellence
•Coordinates cross-functional initiatives with Sales, Finance, and Customer Care
•Ensures regulatory compliance across operations
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
•Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field
•15+ years of operations management experience
•8+ years of leadership experience managing large, dispersed teams
•Proven experience implementing complex operational systems and automation
•Strong background in algorithm development and decision modeling
•Experience managing P&L of $20M+
•Track record of successful operational transformation initiative
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•MBA or advanced degree
•Experience in renewable energy or utility operations
•Background in operational automation and process optimization
•Strong understanding of predictive analytics and resource optimization
•Experience with workforce management systems and tools
•Knowledge of project management methodologies
•Six Sigma or similar operational excellence certification
