Salary Range: The full pay range for this role is $133,000 - $221,700 annually . We generally base our salary decisions on factors such as internal equity, candidate work and/leadership experience, educational credentials, and in some cases, candidate work location.
Scope of Job: This role resides within the newly formed Long-Duration Storage & Transmission Team and will directly support the Senior Director, Transmission Development in two primary capacities:
Act as EDFR equity manager (Shareholder Representative) to its standalone transmission joint venture (JV), Mid-Atlantic Offshore Development (MAOD; 50:50 JV between Shell New Energies US, LLC and EDFR). As a Shareholder Representative, the candidate is accountable for oversight of the JV business, collaborating with the JV to develop business budgets, strategy, and reporting. The Shareholder Representative will accordingly liaise with EDFR Management and manage EDFR approvals (capital, operating decisions, other) and other governance items supporting the JV.
Act as a manager supporting the Senior Director, Transmission in sector specific research, opportunity origination, valuation, and execution within the broader transmission sector.
Responsibilities are subsequently broken out by the two mandates described above.

MAOD Shareholder Representative Responsibilities
Mid-Atlantic Offshore Development (MAOD), LLC is a 50:50 joint venture between Shell New Energies US, LLC and EDF Renewables North America. The JV was formed to respond to the PJM New Jersey Transmission RFP to meet New Jersey’s goal of facilitating delivery of 7,500 megawatts of offshore wind energy by 2035. Primary stakeholders will include EDFR’s MAOD Board reps and executive management team, potential financing providers, and major suppliers. MAOD is a highly visible project among both shareholders and externally and will be commercialized through FERC regulated cost recovery within PJM. Specific responsibilities include:
JV Oversight
- Oversee and report JV development, execution, planning, and scheduling matters to EDFR JV Board members.
- Collaborate with the JV to develop and implement strategy.
- Institute proper communication channels and forums to ensure the free and timely flow of relevant information among all internal and external project stakeholders, including recurring and ad-hoc reports to management. Review and comment on JV reports, staffing requests, budgets, approvals, Board requests, etc.
- Own and manage JV governance agreements, overseeing drafting, negotiation, and execution of relevant legal and commercial documents.
Board Materials & Budget Approvals
- Preparing shareholder presentations, reports, and notes on behalf of EDFR management
- Review and manage JV requests to shareholder, such as: budget approvals (DEVEX, CAPEX, OPEX), development updates, cost reporting, and project evaluation (NPV, IRR)
- Develop integrated financial budgets, internal reporting, and controls.
- Work with the JV to support project risks assessment, risk control, and risk reporting processes, including the aggregation and selection of top risks
Functional Coordination
- Support EDFR Finance lead, primary interface with JV for construction and term debt.
- Facilitate possible synergies between the JV and EDFR for value creation opportunities, talent mobility, lessons learned, and portfolio value optimization.
- In coordination with HR business partner(s), facilitate talent acquisition inside the JV.

Long-Duration Storage & Transmission Team, Transmission ResponsibilitiesMarket Research and Competitive Analysis
- Acquire, research, structure and analyze data from public, industry, and proprietary sources.
- Independently develop and maintain business intelligence databases for sector team.
- Apply creative problem-solving and analysis skills to synthesize and communicate actionable insights/conclusions/strategy.
Opportunity Origination and Execution
- Support business development activities linked to strategy, including customer identification, outreach, diligence, and risk assessment.
- Organize and lead cross-functional collaboration with internal development focused teams.
- Manage project-specific workstreams, including internal approval processes and external customer responses as process manager.
Financial and Risk Analysis
- Build, operate and/or analyze financial models (i.e., Microsoft Excel) to enable quantitative risk assessment of opportunities.
Support broader team initiatives.
- Assist other sectors and technologies in alignment with business objectives.
- Support digital transformation and efficiency initiatives and take a lead role in their implementation across team.

Working Conditions: 90% of time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment. 10% of time is spent outside of the office visiting vendors’ and/or internal customers’ sites in additional to attending various conferences and meetings.

Qualifications
Qualifications/Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business or a related development or technical field
- 8+ years professional experience demonstrating progressive project management success.
- 5+ years energy experience required; familiarity with development, renewable energy, and transmission preferred.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
- Demonstrated capacity for analytical thinking, advanced problem-solving skills.
- Commercial mindset with clear understanding of project development concepts
- Advanced communication and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to (i) break down new and complex topics, and (ii) communicate clear insights.
- Ability to work both well independently and within broad, diverse teams, building relationships with other departments and stakeholders to accomplish objectives.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to both lead work streams and contribute to a supporting capacity.
- Ability to cope with tight deadlines and high-stress work environment.
- Demonstrated organizational and process management skills.
- Advanced PowerPoint and Excel user, knowledge of other software a plus
