Job Summary:
What part will you play?
- GAF Energy is seeking an Interconnection & Incentive Associate to own, manage, and coordinate projects, and to understand how to apply and procure incentives, which vary from state to state.
- This exciting role will report to the Director, Customer Operations and work within a cross-functional team to manage both incentives and the interconnection process on behalf of the customer, ensuring that GAF Energy is in compliance with program rules, and will coordinate sign-off by property authorities, including utility design reviews.
- The Interconnection & Incentive Associate will be responsible for ensuring that the customer’s solar system is up and running as quickly as possible with maximum economy and optimized cost structures. You will play a critical part in the rollout process, as you will be part of the team that manages the steps prior to the customer powering up their system for the first time to ensure they see their meter running backward, knowing that they have received all local, state, and other incentives possible in the process of going solar.
What will you do?
- Prepare, review, and submit numerous interconnection and incentive documents, ensuring strict adherence to government and utility policies to maintain accuracy.
- Manage daily updates of interconnection and incentive tasks, manage project status updates, and generate necessary reports to complete assignments.
- Initiate proactive phone and email communication with stakeholders to ensure timely acquisition of necessary documentation and clear understanding and communication of requirements.
- Identify common interconnection and incentive issues, develop suitable solutions, and handle incoming inquiries in a timely, efficient, and professional manner.
- Propose and contribute to process enhancements such as developing incentive databases, optimizing software usage, designing application templates, generating critical reports, and summarizing information for other departments.
- Analyze and document interconnection and incentive requirements and processes for various municipalities, states, and utilities.
What do we require from you?
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience (Commercial and New homes Interconnection would be ideal).
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Adobe Acrobat Professional, SQL reporting, or electrical engineering drawings.
- Exhibit strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders through clear and effective verbal, written, and presentation methods.
- Effectively manage a high volume of customer cases in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Deliver excellent customer service with professionalism, empathy, and a strong focus on customer needs.
Individuals hired for this position can reasonably expect a base salary within the range of $50,000 - $75,000 and an annual bonus.
