Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Coordinator Intern to join our Engineering and Design team at a leading solar racking manufacturer. This role will support our team responsible for the engineering and design of commercial photovoltaic (PV) systems. The intern will gain hands-on experience in the solar industry, working closely with our project management and engineering teams to help ensure the successful design and delivery of large-scale commercial solar projects. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to clean energy initiatives while gaining valuable experience in project coordination, design, and engineering workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Commercial PV Project Planning: Support the engineering and design teams in creating project schedules and coordinating timelines for commercial solar PV system designs, ensuring all project milestones are met.
- Tracking and Reporting: Help track project progress, focusing on key metrics such as design completion, approvals, and materials readiness. Provide timely updates to ensure projects stay on schedule.
- Documentation Management: Organize and maintain project files related to the design and engineering of commercial PV systems, ensuring that all documentation, such as design specs, site assessments, and regulatory approvals, is accurate and up-to-date.
- Coordinate Design Team Meetings: Help coordinate meetings with internal engineering teams, including project kickoff sessions, design reviews, and cross-functional collaboration meetings with installation and procurement teams.
- Stakeholder Communication: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and external contractors to facilitate communication and ensure alignment between design specifications and installation requirements.
- Data Entry & Analysis: Assist in data entry and analysis related to project timelines, cost metrics, and design revisions, contributing to efficient workflow management for large-scale solar projects.
- Support Design Process Improvement: Assist the team in identifying areas for process improvement in the design and engineering of commercial PV systems, helping optimize design timelines and overall project efficiency.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field, with an interest in renewable energy and solar power.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with engineers, project managers, and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Attention to detail and a proactive attitude, particularly in dealing with technical and engineering projects.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment, especially in collaboration with engineers and designers.
