Description
The Solar Inspection Technician is responsible for conducting pre-inspection audits, supporting municipal and utility inspections, and verifying that completed installations are compliant with code requirements. This role requires a motivated individual capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend daily meetings with the Inspection Coordinator and Field Manager to review schedules and updates.
- Perform thorough pre-inspection audits prior to official inspections to ensure readiness and compliance.
- Prepare access for inspectors by opening electrical panels, junction boxes, and securing ladders as needed.
- Obtain and organize required photos and documentation to support inspections and closeout processes.
- Install safety placards and collect inspection approval stickers upon completion.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with local city and county inspection offices.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while ensuring high-quality workmanship and professionalism.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the operations and inspection teams.
Qualifications & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training is a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in solar inspections, construction, or a related field preferred.
- Electrical experience is a strong advantage.
- Comfortable working at heights and using ladders safely.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and general document management systems.
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software platforms; experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- Company vehicle provided for inspection-related travel.
