Description
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Installation Coordinator Intern to join our solar operations team for the summer. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the planning and execution of residential and commercial solar installations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn the coordination processes that bring solar projects from design to completion.
This internship is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing degrees in project management, construction management, operations, renewable energy, or related fields to develop real-world skills in a dynamic and fast-growing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the scheduling and coordination of solar installation projects, ensuring efficient use of field resources.
- Communicate with customers to confirm appointments, provide project updates, and assist with documentation requests.
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, permitting, procurement, and field crews) to help ensure all project requirements are met prior to installation.
- Track project timelines, materials, and inspection requirements using project management software.
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of installation progress and customer communications.
- Help coordinate final inspections, punch lists, and quality assurance follow-ups as needed.
- Identify and resolve minor scheduling or logistics issues with guidance from the Installation Manager.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of coordination processes.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Project Management, Operations, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Customer service mindset with a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with scheduling or project management software is a plus.
- Interest in solar energy, sustainability, or the construction industry.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
